Welcome and Guidelines

Welcome to the Winter 2006 Haiku Blog, a place for haiku poets to record and share their experiences of Winter 06.

This site will operate from the 1st of November 2006 till the 31st of Jan 2007. All haiku poets are welcome to join - please send us an email if you would like an invitation. Send the email to sbhullar at thehaikupoet.com or paul at haikupoet.com. The invitation you will then receive will appear as a personal invitation from ourselves via Blogger. If you have emailed us and not received an invitation within 2 days, please email us again. Sometimes the invitations from Blogger accidentally get categorised as spam, so please check your spam folders. Please follow the instructions in the invitation email, and you will be enrolled as a member of the blog.

The only requirement for posting is that there should be a Winter theme (or signs of Winter - given our erractic climate!). Posts could be haiku, senryu, tanka, haiga or haibun. If included, artwork and photographs should not exceed a width of 400pixels, and height, 500pixels, and should be the original work of the contributor. If not, it is the contributor's responsibility to ensure that they have permission to use the work. Please use your discretion with the number of posts a day - we would suggest not exceeding 3 :)

You will need to register with Blogger in order to contribute or comment on the blog. Spammers and comment abusers will be removed. Nicely, of course :)

That's it with the guidelines we think... any questions, just holler :)

We would be happy to include a link to your weblog or homepage, so don't forget to send us your links. Also, for those new to the Haiku form, we have included links (on the right) to some articles. Matt Morden's blog excellent blog has many more resources.

The Winter Haiku 2006 blog is a follow on from:
Ukku Spring Haiku (managed by Matt Morden and Alison Williams)
Summer Haiku and (managed by Dustin Neal)
Autumn Haiku (managed by J Andrew Lockhart and Gerald England)

Many thanks to them all!
Have fun and happy winter all! :)
